About budget tours
Budget does not mean a group bus. Our nine budget itineraries are private, with your own guide and a private vehicle on the ground, and they keep the cost down in other ways: the sleeper train between Cairo and Luxor or Aswan, a Standard category ship on the Nile, and fewer domestic flights. They run from 6 to 12 days.
Five of the nine include a Nile cruise on a Standard category ship with full board. The other four stay in hotels, including the 6 day trip by train and the 12 day trip with the Red Sea. A Nile ship sails on fixed weekly days, so the start dates of the cruise trips follow the ship.
These trips suit first-time visitors who want the main sites at a lower cost. They do not suit anyone who wants a Deluxe ship (see Luxury Egypt Tours) or a quiet first morning: the sleeper train is an overnight journey, which is a short night for some travellers.

Yes. You travel with your own guide and a private vehicle on the ground. What changes is the way you travel between cities, with sleeper trains instead of flights, and the ship category on the Nile.

It is an overnight sleeper train between Cairo and Luxor or Aswan. It saves a hotel night and a domestic flight, but the night is short, so it suits travellers who sleep easily on trains.
