Cairo in two days
Giza, Saqqara and the Grand Egyptian Museum
Sleeper train to Luxor, 4 nights on a Standard category ship to Aswan, then Abu Simbel by road convoy on day 9 before a flight to Cairo.
From, per person$1,0406 or more travellers · 3-star hotels

Abu Simbel closes this plan. After the ship, one night in an Aswan hotel puts you at the start of the convoy to the temples of Ramesses II, a drive of about 300 km. You return to Aswan by early afternoon and fly to Cairo.
Before the cruise there are two nights in Cairo and a night on the sleeper train, which reaches Luxor the next morning. The ship is in the Standard category, and it sails on fixed weekly days.
The plan suits travellers who want the full southern route and who are fine with a very early alarm on the last full day. It does not suit anyone who dislikes long road days, or who has an evening international flight that cannot move.

You return to the same hotel in Cairo tonight. Bottled water is provided throughout the day, and your guide stays with you at both sites.

Your guide explains what you see. The valley entrance is included, but the tombs of Tutankhamun, Seti I and Ramses VI need separate tickets and are not included.
Afternoon. Check-in on the ship starts at 12:00. The driver takes you and your luggage to the ship, where you stay four nights on full board. Lunch and dinner are on board.

On the river. The rest of the day is on the river. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on board. You stay in the same cabin tonight, so there is nothing to pack. Drinks and extras on board are paid on board and are not included. The ship sails on fixed weekly days, so the stop follows the ship's schedule. Bottled water is provided for the visit, and your cabin stays yours for the night.
Morning. The double temple at Kom Ombo is the morning stop. Your guide leads the visit and explains the two halves of the building. The entrance fee is included.
Afternoon. The ship covers the last 50 km to Aswan. Lunch and dinner are on board, as the cruise is full board. Tomorrow you leave the ship, so pack your bags tonight. Bottled water is provided for the visit. The ship sails on fixed weekly days, so the timing of the stop follows its schedule. Drinks and extras on board are paid on board and are not included. Your cabin is yours until you leave the ship tomorrow morning.
Morning. Leave the cabin by 8:00, after breakfast on board. The driver loads your luggage. The boat to Philae comes first. The move of about 95 structures ran from 1977 to 1980, and your guide explains the move. The boat and entrance fees are included.
Afternoon. Then the High Dam. Lunch is not included, so the guide helps you choose a place. You check in to an Aswan hotel with an early night in mind, because the convoy leaves very early tomorrow. Dinner is not included today.
Morning. The convoy leaves in the early hours, and we confirm the time when we book. It is a long drive, about 300 km, in the private air-conditioned vehicle with your driver. At Abu Simbel the Great Temple has four seated colossi, each about 20 m tall, and the Small Temple is for Hathor. Your guide explains both, and the entrance fees are included.
Afternoon. You return to Aswan by early afternoon. Lunch is not included, and the guide helps you choose a place.
Departure. You fly from Aswan to Cairo, and the flight is included. We choose the departure to suit your international flight and confirm it when we book.

Vehicles go to Abu Simbel in a convoy that leaves in the early hours.
