Giza & the Museum
Giza, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum
Two nights in Cairo, a sleeper train, a Luxor hotel night, 4 nights on a Standard category ship to Aswan and a last night ashore.
From, per person$1,5806 or more travellers · 3-star hotels

The classic route in ten days, with a Standard category ship and a sleeper train in place of a flight south. Luxor has a hotel night before the ship, so the east bank and the west bank each get a day to themselves. The ship then sails 4 nights to Aswan.
After you leave the ship by 8:00 on day 9, one more hotel night in Aswan lets you see Elephantine Island on land without a flight to catch. The ship sails on fixed weekly days, and the sleeper departure is chosen to match.
It suits travellers who want the whole classic route at a moderate pace and who accept a night train. It does not suit anyone who wants Abu Simbel, which is not in this plan; see our 9-day Abu Simbel option.
