Giza & Saqqara
The Giza plateau and Saqqara in a single day
One night in Cairo, a sleeper train to Luxor and 4 nights on a Standard category Nile ship down to Aswan, then a flight back to Cairo.
From, per person$1,0656 or more travellers · 3-star hotels

The cruise is the centre of this week, and the sleeper train gets you to it without a domestic flight. Cairo gets one night and one full day, so the plan keeps to the pyramids and Saqqara and leaves the rest of the city for another trip.
The ship is in the Standard category. Cabins and public areas follow that category, and the ship sails on fixed weekly days, which is why your dates are tied to it. Full board applies on all four nights.
It suits first-time visitors who want a Nile ship and a quick look at Cairo. It does not suit anyone who wants two days in Cairo or a quiet first morning, because the train leaves on the evening of day 2.

Arrival. A guide greets you at the terminal and a private air-conditioned vehicle takes you to the hotel in Cairo, where you check in.
Rest of the day. Nothing is planned for sightseeing. Your guide tells you what to pack in a small bag for the sleeper train, since tomorrow is the day of the pyramids and the evening departure. Lunch and dinner are not included today, and the guide can suggest places near the hotel.
Morning. The pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure take the morning. Your private Egyptologist guide explains each one, and the entrance fees for the sites on the plan are included. The vehicle and driver wait between stops.
Afternoon. After lunch you reach Saqqara, 30 km south of the city, and the Step Pyramid built by Imhotep. Lunch is not included, so the guide helps you choose a place.
Evening. You check out of the hotel. The driver takes you and your luggage to the station for the sleeper to Luxor, where dinner is served on board. We confirm the departure time when we book.
Morning. You arrive in Luxor in the morning, and breakfast on the train is included. Your guide and driver meet you and take you to the west bank. You see the Valley of the Kings and the terraces of Hatshepsut. The Valley of the Kings entrance is included, but the tombs of Tutankhamun, Seti I and Ramses VI need separate tickets and are not included.
Afternoon. Check-in on the ship starts at 12:00, so lunch is on board. The driver takes you and your luggage to the ship, where you stay four nights on full board. From today you can unpack once.
Morning. Breakfast is on board. Karnak lies about 2.5 km north of Luxor and its Hypostyle Hall has 134 columns. Your guide takes you through the halls and explains the reliefs, and the entrance fee is included.
Afternoon. You then visit Luxor Temple, where an avenue of sphinxes about 2.7 km long once joined the two sites. Lunch is on board, and dinner too, as the cruise is full board. The ship leaves port after the visits. Your guide stays with you at both sites and answers questions as you go. Bottled water is provided, and drinks and extras on the ship are paid on board.
Visit. The ship moors for the visit to Edfu, where the temple of Horus was built over almost 180 years, between 237 and 57 BC. Your guide leads the walk through the courtyard and halls and explains what you see, and the entrance fee is included. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are on board.
On the river. The ship then keeps sailing. The rest of the day is on the Nile, with your cabin and the ship's public areas, and your luggage stays where it is. Your private guide travels with you on the visit, and the timing of the stop follows the ship's schedule, since the ship sails on fixed weekly days. Drinks and extras on board are paid separately.
Morning. The morning is on the river, and breakfast and lunch are served on board. Your luggage stays in your cabin.
Afternoon. Kom Ombo is a double temple on the riverbank about 50 km north of Aswan. You see it in the afternoon with your guide, and the entrance fee is included.
Evening. The ship berths in Aswan in the evening, and dinner is on board. Tomorrow you leave the ship, so pack your bags tonight. Dinner and breakfast are on board as well. Drinks and extras are paid on board and are not included, and tips are not included either.
Morning. Cabins are vacated by 8:00, after breakfast on board. The driver loads your luggage and you visit Philae and the High Dam with your guide. The entrance fees are included.
Departure. Lunch is not included today, and the guide helps you choose a place. Then your driver takes you to the airport for the flight from Aswan to Cairo, which is included. We choose the departure to suit your international flight and confirm it when we book. The tour ends in Cairo.
