Giza & the Sphinx
With an Egyptologist
Hotels only: a sleeper train to Luxor, then the road to Aswan through Edfu and Kom Ombo, and a flight back to Cairo on day 8.
From, per person$1,2056 or more travellers · 3-star hotels

The heart of this plan is the road between Luxor and Aswan. It is about 220 km, with Edfu and Kom Ombo along the way. A private vehicle lets you stop where the temples are.
Before that you spend two nights in Cairo and ride a sleeper train to Luxor overnight, arriving the next morning. Luxor and Aswan each have two nights, so you wake in the same bed twice and never carry bags on a rush day.
It suits travellers who prefer stable hotel stays to a ship. It does not suit anyone who wants to sleep on the Nile, or anyone who dislikes a long day in a car.
