Giza pyramids
The Great Pyramid and the other two pyramids
Two days, one night: pyramids, Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum on day 1, the Citadel and Khan el-Khalili on day 2.
From, per person$2156 or more travellers · 3-star hotels

This is the tightest program we sell. You land, go straight to Giza, sleep once in Cairo and spend the second day in the old city before your flight.
It works for a long layover, a business trip with a free day, or a first look before a longer visit. It works best if your flight lands in the morning. If it lands late, we swap the order and tell you what drops out.
It is not a relaxed trip. Both days are full and you see Cairo only. If you want Luxor or Aswan, take a longer break.

Arrival. Your private Egyptologist guide meets you at the airport and helps you through arrival. The private air-conditioned vehicle then drives you straight to Giza, about 13 km southwest of central Cairo, so the pyramids come first and the hotel comes later in the day.
Morning. You walk around the three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, and the guide explains who built each one and how they stand in relation to each other. The Sphinx comes next. Entrance fees for these sites are covered.
Afternoon. Lunch is not included, so the guide helps you choose a place before the Grand Egyptian Museum, about 2 km away. Inside you see the Tutankhamun collection of 5,398 pieces and the 11 m statue of Ramesses II, and the guide points out what is worth your time. Entrance is included.
Evening. The vehicle takes you to your hotel in Cairo and you check in for the night. Dinner is not included, and the guide can suggest places near the hotel.
Morning. After breakfast at the hotel you check out, and your luggage travels in the vehicle. The first stop is the Citadel of Cairo. Your guide takes you to the Mosque of Muhammad Ali on the summit, which was begun around 1830 and finished in 1857.
Afternoon. From the Citadel you drive to Khan el-Khalili, beside the Al-Hussein Mosque. The first khan there dates to the 1380s, and the guide walks you through the bazaar and tells you what you are looking at. Lunch is not included, and the guide helps you choose a place nearby.
Departure. Your flight sets the timing. The private vehicle takes you to the airport when you need to leave, with the transfer and the entrance fees for the Citadel already covered.
