Giza & Saqqara
Giza, the Sphinx and the Step Pyramid at Saqqara
Three nights in Cairo, a 4-night Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan, two nights in Aswan and a road day to Abu Simbel.
From, per person$1,2256 or more travellers · 3-star hotels

This is the full classic route in ten days: the pyramids, the Theban sites, the temples on the river and the two temples of Ramesses II. A single domestic flight takes you from Cairo to Luxor on day 4, and another brings you back from Aswan on day 10.
The cruise runs the 4-night direction, from Luxor to Aswan, so you walk the Theban temples before you sail. After you leave the ship you stay two nights in an Aswan hotel, which is what lets Abu Simbel fit without cutting anything else.
Abu Simbel is reached on day 9 by road, about 300 km each way, in a convoy that leaves very early. If an early alarm is a deal-breaker for you, ask for the flight version, which is in our 8-day hotel plan.
