Why travellers choose this trip

Alexandria is the reason to pick this plan. It is about 220 km from Cairo by road, and we go by private car. You sleep there one night, so the day is not rushed and the sea is on your doorstep.

Day 4 is a busy transfer day: back to Cairo by road and onto a flight to Aswan. The ship takes over from then on and sails north on its fixed weekly days. Luxor gets two hotel nights after the cruise.

It suits travellers who have seen the Pyramids photographed a thousand times and want a Mediterranean city in the mix. It does not suit anyone who dislikes domestic transfers on a tight day.

FAQ

Questions about this trip

Still unsure? Message us on WhatsApp and a real person from our team will answer.

How long is the drive between Cairo and Alexandria?

About 220 km. We use a private car, so your guide and luggage stay with you and we leave when you are ready.

Is day 4 too tight?

It is the busiest day, with a drive and a flight. If you prefer, we add a second Alexandria night and drop one Luxor night.

Can I see Alexandria on a day trip from Cairo instead?

Yes, but a day trip means about 440 km in a car in total, there and back. The overnight version gives you an evening by the sea.

Will I see the old Alexandria lighthouse?

No, the Pharos is gone. The Qaitbay Citadel stands on its site.
