Giza & Saqqara
In one Egyptologist-led day
Two nights in Cairo, a sleeper train to Luxor, then 4 nights on the Nile down to Aswan. You fly back to Cairo on day 8.
From, per person$1,0456 or more travellers · 3-star hotels

The sleeper train replaces a hotel night and a flight. You board in Cairo in the evening, sleep in a two-berth compartment and wake up in Luxor the next morning. Dinner and breakfast are served on board, and we confirm the departure time when we book.
The cruise then runs south, which is the 4-night direction: Luxor first, Aswan last. The ship sails on fixed weekly days, and we fit the dates of the train to it.
This plan suits travellers who like the idea of a night train and do not mind a compartment in place of a hotel room. It does not suit light sleepers, or anyone who needs an en-suite bathroom every night.
