The cruise features a fine-dining restaurant that offers a wide range of dishes, from international cuisine to traditional Egyptian specialties. Guests can enjoy sumptuous breakfast buffets, lunch, and dinner, with options for every taste. Some of the highlights of the menu include grilled Nile fish, koshari, and fatta, as well as a variety of international options to cater to all preferences.
For a more intimate dining experience, the ship also offers room service, so you can enjoy meals in the comfort of your cabin while gazing out over the Nile River.
The MS Le Fayan offers several onboard amenities that ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable time. The ship features a spacious sun deck where guests can relax and take in the breathtaking views of the Nile. With sunbeds available, you can enjoy the Egyptian sun in comfort while cruising through the river’s peaceful waters.
The pool area offers a refreshing option to cool off, and the bar/lounge is the perfect spot to unwind with a drink and enjoy live entertainment, including music performances and cultural shows.
In addition to these relaxation options, the MS Le Fayan also offers a spa and wellness center, where guests can indulge in a range of treatments, from massages to beauty therapies, ensuring a refreshing experience during your cruise.
While the MS Le Fayan provides a luxurious environment to relax, the real highlight of the cruise lies in its shore excursions. The ship typically operates on a route between Luxor and Aswan, with stops at some of Egypt’s most iconic archaeological sites.
One of the must-see sites in Luxor is the Valley of the Kings, the burial place of Egypt’s pharaohs, including the tomb of the famous Tutankhamun. In Luxor, you can also visit the Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex in Egypt, and the Luxor Temple, which is beautifully illuminated at night, adding to its majestic allure.
Another fascinating stop is Edfu, home to the Temple of Horus, which is remarkably well-preserved. The temple is dedicated to the god Horus and boasts towering columns, grand gateways, and beautifully preserved hieroglyphs. It is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt and a must-see for those interested in ancient Egyptian history.
The Kom Ombo Temple is another stop along the way. The temple is unique because it is dedicated to two gods: Horus and Sobek. The symmetrical design of the temple, with identical sanctuaries on either side, is an architectural marvel.
The final stop is Aswan, where you can visit the Philae Temple. Situated on an island, this temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis and is considered one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt. To get there, you’ll take a short boat ride across the Nile, adding a touch of adventure to the experience.
In Aswan, you can also visit the High Dam, a modern marvel that controls the flow of the Nile and provides electricity to much of Egypt.
The best time to take a cruise aboard the MS Le Fayan is during Egypt’s cooler months, from October to April. During this period, the weather is mild, making it ideal for exploring the ancient sites and enjoying the outdoor facilities aboard the ship. The summer months can be very hot, particularly in Luxor and Aswan, so the cooler months provide a more comfortable experience for sightseeing and relaxation.
